MMy artistry is deeply rooted in my personal journey, with my works primarily crafted from hanji and featuring the human body as a motif in puppet form. Initially, my focus was on beauty and cuteness, but a turning point came with my mother's accident. This event led me to reflect on her life, delving into the complexities of human existence and exploring the concept of death. The themes in my work, often revolving around anxiety and the fear of losing my mother, serve as a profound connection to her life. Hanji, much like my mother's life, appears strong but can become fragile and rough when in contact with water. Yet, it also embodies an incredible softness and warmth reminiscent of my mother...

As an artist and a human being, I am deeply fascinated by the relationships we form and the individual lives we lead. These relationships, entwined with a myriad of emotions, shape our experiences and have become a significant theme in both my life and work. Life's ever-changing journey brings us into contact with diverse individuals, forming relationships that can act as mirrors reflecting ourselves or as walls challenging our understanding. Thus, to understand others is to understand our existence. Our reality, enriched by the presence of others, is a significant theme that I explore in my work, a theme that transcends the need for words.

Certain bonds connect people, and breaking free from this connection is complicated once we meet. In my works, which evoke a beautiful sense of nostalgia for my childhood, I deeply reflect on my mother's life and express her pain, sorrow, joy, and the essence of her being, even her scent, which I consider sacred. Sorrowful emotions are the catalyst for beauty, which is the fundamental aesthetic approach I embrace. Moreover, through my art form, I've developed ways to help audiences reflect on their journeys and beliefs. I use the making of hanji dolls as a form of art therapy with different groups, from the old to the young. By doing this, hanji dolls and the making thereof become therapeutic art. Through this, I share and reflect on my personal journey and form a bond with the people around me. The focus is thus more on the spirit of healing and beauty through art than the artist.
